National Salt Awareness Week 2017

The 18th National Salt Awareness Week took place Monday 20th -
Sunday 26th March 2017. The theme for this year's Salt Awareness
Week was 'Salt: The Forgotten Killer'.
Over the week people were reminded that salt raises blood
pressure, leading to strokes and heart attacks, and that by simply
eating less we can lower our chances of dying prematurely.
Many foods still have salt added to them, even foods that don't
necessarily taste salty. Emphasis was placed on the need for
further work if we are to reach the 6g per day salt target.
As a supporter of the campaign, LoSalt joined
Action on Salt and Health (CASH) at an evening reception
at the House of Commons on Tuesday 21st March, hosted by Sir David
Amess, MP. Around 100 guests attended the event, including NGOs,
members of the food industry and healthcare professionals.
